Over 450 Students and their families turned out, making MacArthur's Bingo Night on Thursday, Nov. 21., one of their biggest events so far! There was lots of food and snacks, prize baskets, and fun. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: USD 480 Officials and Law enforcement have been made aware of a large number of “Swatting” incidents expected throughout the country tomorrow, Thursday, October 3, 2024. “Swatting” is making severe false reports to authorities intended to cause fear and apprehension. These false reports may occur at Schools, Businesses, and Individual homes. It's crucial to be aware and prepared. Emergency medical services were called to MacArthur Elementary today for an accidental injury. The school nurse assessed the student, called EMS, parents were reached, and the student was transported with parent consent.

For the past few weeks, first-grade students at MacArthur Elementary have been learning about Fables and their morals. On Friday, Sept. 6, their teachers held the "Fable Olympics" to help them review what they have learned. The Fable Olympic Events included: Sour Grape Relay - Don't get sour grapes; Collecting golden eggs - Don't be greedy; Peter Rabbit - Escape from Mr. McGreggor; Balancing bucket of milk on your head - Don't catch your chickens before they hatch. Kudos to these students and to their teachers for finding ways to make learning fun! A great example of our theme this year. #progresswithpurpose

There are containers with learning packets for each grade level outside by the office entrance. **Please only take 1 packet per student so there are enough for each of our students **Only ONE person at a time outside of their vehicle to get the packet** The packets will be out for you to pick up at your convenience until Friday evening.
